What do you do when your families are in once country but you love another one? While some couples choose to elope, other couples are embracing the idea of having an after-wedding shoot in a place that holds special meaning for them. For today’s couple, that place is way up north in the UK. They decided to have an after-wedding adventure in Scotland with photographer Weirdie Grizzly, who took them to some of his favourite locations.
An After-Wedding Adventure In Scotland
Hi, my name is Kati, I am 30 years old and Hungarian. After finishing my university studies I decided that I wanted to live in Scotland. It’s been 5 years since. I met my husband at the university but our love story started in Scotland. Three years of being together and we made the decision to get married. It was obvious that we had to hold our wedding in Hungary because of our families (I have a particularly big extended family). However, we really wanted Scotland to be part of the big day somehow. So we tried to include it in the little details. Our wedding favour gift was homemade Scottish tablet -fudge- tied with a tartan ribbon for our guests, the welcome drink was single malt scotch whisky and we had Scottish bagpipe in the music of our opening dance. And last, we wanted to have the photo shoot in Scotland.
We really wanted the photo shoot to happen in a natural setting and it’s not difficult to find wonderful, picturesque locations for that in Scotland. There were a few possible places on our minds and in the end our photographer - Weirdie Grizzly - helped us with the decision and recommended the perfect locations.
We found Weirdie Grizzly through Facebook. We looked at his photos and we found his work amazingly beautiful.
The beauty of nature in Scotland.
Our favourite moment was definitely when it was raining and sunny at the same time. It resulted in an amazing image. That is one of the reasons why we love Scotland.
