Ski Resort Wedding In Austria ? Kat & Al

Katja & Al are both big winter lovers. Before they met, they had both spent a lot of time on the ski slopes. Katja used to ski race until she was 18 and Al lived in Geneva for a time and spend many weekends over in Chamonix. The winter theme continued in to their relationship too. They met in December, got engaged in the winter and their son was also welcomed in to the world in December. After having their son Kit, Katja and Al knew they’d need to get planning if they wanted to make their dream of a ski resort wedding come to life.

Katja & Al kept bumping in to each other at various work parties until eventually Al persuaded a mutual friend to give Katja his number. After a few months and a few text messages back and forwards they finally went on an official date. When the time came to propose, Al planned a romantic date night ice skating at the Tower of London, meandering through the Christmas markets and dinner and a night in the hotel in the Shard. He finally popped the question at the end of the night as they enjoyed the view looking across London.

Katja & Al decided to plan an apres-ski inspired day for their ski resort wedding in the Austrian Alps, near the famous ski resort of Kitzbühel. Assisted by local planner Kajsa, they picked the mountain restaurant Toni Alm as the location for their mountain ceremony and reception. Their vision for the reception was a magical indoor garden, which local florist Innenleben created so perfectly. They day was supposed to be captured by UK photographer Kevin Mullins, whose work Katja had fallen in love with months back. But as fate would have it, Keven couldn’t leave the UK because of the snow storm known as the “Beast from the East”. Not wanting to be without photos from the day, Kajsa put Kat & Al in touch with local photographer Cat from Wild Connections Photography, who stepped in with less than 24 hours notice to capture this incredible wedding day.
