Wayne & Michelle had one main vision for their wedding day. They wanted to day to be more than just a wedding. They wanted it to be an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. So when their wedding planner Stephanie suggested an Igloo wedding, they knew it would be an incredible day.
An Igloo Wedding In Austria
Eighteen years before their wedding day, feeling tired of beach holidays, Wayne & Michelle decided to try a completely different style of holiday and started browsing through a lakes & mountains holiday brochure. Wayne told Michelle she could choose the destination, and she picked the village of Westendorf in the Austrian Alps. From their very first visit that summer, they fell in love with Austria and the mountains around Westendorf. So much so, that they’ve been coming back every year since! They wanted to share their love of Austria with their family and friends back in the UK, and decided that this special place in Austrian Alps would be the perfect location to get married.
They contacted local wedding planner Stephanie from Dreamotions with one request. The wedding day didn’t need to be traditional in any way. What was most important to them was that it should be an unforgettable experience. And that is exactly what they got!
Wayne & Michelle arrived for their ceremony in style, meeting at the top of the cable car and taking a ski-doo to their mountain hut ceremony. After the I-Dos they walked across to the AlpenIglu Igloo village where they enjoyed a chilly cocktail from the ice bar in a glass made of ice. After that the whole wedding party headed outside for an ice carving workshop. Their final masterpieces included love hearts, mountains and a dinosaur! They ended the afternoon by returning back inside the igloo for dinner, with a fondue in the igloo’s spectacular dining room.
