Today’s real wedding couple Sophie & Kjetil are an international couple with roots in Germany and Norway. They decided to have their wedding on the groom’s family farm in the most stunning location overlooking the Hardanger Fjord in Norway, with photographer Lene Fossdal to capture their wonderful wedding story.
Hardanger Fjord Wedding In Norway On A Family Farm
We first met through mutual friends, and got to know each other more during the following summer. It feels like we just clicked. In fact, our chemistry was so good that our friends thought we were together before we even became an item. Our first kiss was at a concert the two of us went to, and we have to admit that made the whole evening perfect.
After 5 years together, Kjetil proposed to Sophie in autumn 2017 in her hometown in Germany.
The wedding location was an easy choice. Kjetils family is very close to us and we knew the Norwegian nature would make the trip for the german guests worthwhile.
Sophies family came all the way from Germany, and we wanted them to see the gorgeous nature around Hardanger fjord. Hence, we planned on having an outdoor ceremony at the farm owned by Kjetils family. So far, summer had been perfect that year, but it suddenly started pouring the whole week before our wedding. We certainly panicked when the party tent was about to get blown away by a storm the evening before our big day! But luckily, we woke up to sunshine. Just imagine how happy and grateful we were to be able to say yes to each other just as planned: with milk pails, bagpipes and a fantastic view! Wellingtons gave our wedding pictures that little extra.
No, that was our day, and it was perfect. 🙂
If you are planning an outdoor wedding, always have a plan B in case the weather changes. And if so the edges of your dress get a little muddy, wear them as you do your flower crown.
