When Australian couple, Jess and Cory, went on their European adventure they both fell in love with the natural beauty of Switzerland.
And it was during a visit to Jungfraujoch in the Bernese Alps, while stood on a platform overlooking the mountains, Cory got down on one knee and proposed. And of course, Jess said yes!
So it was only fitting that the pair returned to Switzerland for their wedding – and my goodness what a fantastic day it was.

Cory and Jess decided to plan their Swiss wedding for the beginning of April. Emma from Story of Your Day explained that the seasons have moved in recent years. Snow seemed to be falling much later in the season, and it wasn’t unusual to still have snow in May. This of course, meant it was hard for Cory & Jess to plan for the weather on their wedding day. They planned for a lakeside wedding and hoped for snow-capped mountains … what they got was a warm sunny day. But just the day after their wedding it snowed non-stop for 24 hours and had their wedding been that day it would have been a totally different story!
They celebrated their marriage with a truly intimate humanist ceremony conducted by Marilyn from A Lovely Day at the stunning Lake Blausee (or the Blue Lake as it is translated to in English). You’ll understand why it was given this name when you see it!
With just a handful of their closest friends and family, Cory and Jess continued their celebrations at grilkota at the Sunstar Hotel in Wengen.
