Pragser Wildsee After-Wedding Shoot

This stunning lake in the Italian Dolomites is known by many names. You might know it as the Pragser Wildsee, Lake Braies, Lake Prags or Lago di Braies. This stunning lake is causing quite a storm on Instagram, and it’s pretty easy to see why. It’s absolutely breathtaking! So it’s no surprise that today’s couple chose to visit for their first wedding anniversary with their wonderful wedding photographer Christina Puszkar aka Romany Flower.

Pragser Wildsee After-Wedding Shoot

We are Michelle and Christopher from Germany. We love nature and when we married in 2017, we had our ceremony in a beautiful church made of willow trees in Kaiserslautern. For our anniversary shoot, we were searching for a beautiful place in nature.

We had planned our summer holidays in Italy at lake Como and Iseo. Then we talked to Christina, our wedding photographer, because we wanted to do an anniversary weeding shoot one year after our marriage. When we told her that we couldn’t do the shoot at this time because we were on holiday, she was like: “Where on holiday?”. And once we told her that we were going to Italy, she proposed to do the shoot at a romantic little lake in the Dolomites she had heard of: Pragser Wildsee. So we changed our holiday plans a bit and had our anniversary shoot at this magnificent location.

After Christina had shot my brother’s wedding, we were 100% sure that she also had to be the photographer at our own wedding. And we love the photos she shot at our wedding so much. So when we decided to do an anniversary wedding shoot, it was no question that it had be Christina again.

It started with the discussion about the wedding dress. I (Christopher) was like “If that dress is that expensive, you will need to wear it more than once. I require that each year of our marriage, you will wear that dress for me at lest once.” And Michelle was like “okay, but then we need to also do a photo each year.” Actually, I didn’t think of a professional photo shoot at the time. But then Michelle proposed to do a shoot with Christina, and that’s what we did.

We did the shoot rather early in the morning to make sure not that many tourists are there. But at that time, it was about 0°C and our wedding dress and suit were not that warm. So to be honest, the best moment was when the shoot was over and we went inside of a restaurant and got some warm drinks and food 😉

It was a good decision to get up early before the tourists are there. Next time, I would try to wear some warm clothes underneath.
