Pre-wedding shoots are becoming increasingly popular. I’ve read that the tradition started as Asian weddings often left little time for the couple to have pictures of themselves taken, so the couple would arrange to take their wedding photos before their wedding day so that they could display their photos at their wedding reception. This popular trend that started in Asia is now becoming more and more popular across the world. Couples are choosing to travel to epic destinations around the globe and spend a day with a photographer capturing themselves exploring these amazing locations.
Pre-Wedding Shoot At Lago Di Braies In The Dolomites
Christina & Ted travelled to Italy all the way from Hong Kong. Their decision to take their pre-wedding pictures in the Dolomites was a pretty spontaneous one - and in less than 48 hours my bags were packed and ready to go. They were staying in Hotel Lago Di Braies, a beautiful alpine style hotel right on the shores of one of the most beautiful lakes in the Dolomites.
On the morning of their shoot we woke up to light rain, so we started with some pictures of them getting ready in their beautiful hotel room. It didn’t take too long before the rain eased off, so we headed outside to explore the lake.
After a few hours of marvelling at the beautiful turquoise waters of the lake (and a break for some lunch), we jumped in the car and I took Christina & Ted to some of my favourite spots in this area of the Dolomites. Although the clouds hung around the mountains for most of the day, we managed to avoid any more rain. Right until the last location of the day, where, just as the sun finally came out, the rain started to fall as well.
