When many people think of the Alps, they think of snow-capped mountains in the wintertime. But the Alps are also the perfect destination for a summer wedding if you want lush green meadows and stunning mountain vistas. Today’s couple picked their Mayrhofen, their favourite ski resort in the Austrian Alps, for their summer mountain wedding.
A Summer Mountain Wedding In Mayrhofen
The couple were lucky enough to have their amazing friend and talented photographer Aline Lange Photography capture their wonderful day. Here’s what Aline told me about their wedding day:
First, they were looking for locations near their home town in Germany but they didn’t find anything they loved. They then decided to get married where they feel happy and relaxed, although knowing that not everyone might like their decision getting married in Austria as everyone had to travel there first. But a wedding is about the couple and they decided it’s going to be Mayrhofen, so everyone showed up! 🙂 The morning started very relaxed. Getting the location ready as well as the bride and groom. We then went outside for their portraits. Everything was in walking distance of the house. After the portraits, the ceremony started outside on the terrace with looking at the Ahorn, Lisa’s favourite mountain. We were so lucky as the forecast was thunderstorms, which passed 20min before the wedding. We had beautiful sunshine and warm temperatures. After the ceremony, a friend of the couple sang for them, we stayed outside for a yummy reception before we went inside for a yummy dinner. Friends and family had so many little surprises that Lisa couldn’t stop crying the whole day.

It was just us two on the last day of our vacation in Bali when he asked me.
It was a destination wedding and we thought some time about doing this, because of our family and friends who would have to travel some hours for our wedding - but it was awesome. The location is like a home away from home for me (Lisa) as I‘m travelling there for winter holidays for almost 20 years now
Most of them I know personally.
Our love to this place and the mountains.
The whole day was just perfect. The love our family and friends put into this day and party was just awesome and we will remember all these little things with a huge smile on our faces.
