A Honeymoon Shoot In Wengen in the Swiss Alps

Kim and Michael were tempted to elope to the Alps instead of having a wedding in the USA, but instead, they decided to plan a wedding closer to home and spend the day with their friends and family. Not giving up on their dream of adventures in the Alps, they decided to bring their wedding clothes with them on their honeymoon and captured their trip with a honeymoon shoot in Wengen in the Swiss Alps with Switzerland-based photographer Caroline Hancox Photography.

An Honeymoon Shoot In Wengen in the Swiss Alps

I teach ballet and my husband teaches history and is a basketball/American football coach. Our wedding was in downtown Houston, Texas in the oldest still functioning hotel! We loved the venue as my husband teaches Texas history and I’m a 7th generation Texan so it was just the perfect fit!

Originally we wanted to elope in the alps but after a lot of discussions with family, we settled on a honeymoon shoot that captured the essence of what we originally wanted. So we got the best of both worlds!

I went to Austria for the first time in 2008 and I’ve been obsessed with wandering the alps ever since. I knew my husband would have the same love for the mountains as I did so he (lovingly) let me pick the location. And as I suspected, he was blown away!

Actually, I did a lot of google research and finally landed on Caroline’s blog. After searching through her posts and reading her words and seeing her pictures I knew she would be a good fit for us.

It may not be my favourite moment but it sure was memorable… it was set to rain our entire honeymoon! Somehow it didn’t at all…. EXCEPT for the two hour shoot we had scheduled. Regardless of the unwanted rain, I feel that everything turned out absolutely perfect and Caroline was just the best hiding out with us under a bridge crossing fingers it would stop!

I would one hundred percent recommend a photo shoot to capture your honeymoon. It was such a special time as a new married couple seeing new places!
