Intimate Elopement In Northern Ireland

Mindy and Seamus travelled from Kentucky, USA, for their intimate elopement in Northern Ireland. Set in the stunning ruins of Dunservick Castle, along the North West coast of Northern Ireland, the breathtaking scenery provided a magnificent backdrop for these two souls as they said their wedding vows to one another.

Intimate Elopement In Northern Ireland

We work together, so we knew each other for quite a while before we started dating. We aren’t very traditional, so there wasn’t so much of a proposal as a discussion. What started out as a possible weekend in Vegas or Pigeon Forge turned into a perfectly magical elopement in Northern Ireland.

We wanted to visit Northern Ireland, and the options provided by our wedding planner made it easy to pick a location on the coast. Dunseverick Castle was perfect, sheltered from the worst of the wind, but with an amazing view of the castle ruins and the ocean.

We found our wedding planner by simple online search. Peach Perfect Weddings has great reviews and the photographs of other weddings they have organized were so perfect, we thought they would be perfect, and truly, it turned out to be a perfect day, far beyond what I hoped for. The wedding planner connected us with all of our other vendors (all of whom were fantastic!).

Well, we didn’t really have an inspiration. I guess fate had a hand in the way everything came together perfectly!

Dolphins surfacing outside the cottage we stayed in for the weekend while we were getting ready? The herd of sheep who witnessed our ceremony? The fact that the florist must be a psychic to devise such a gorgeous bouquet and crown for me? The perfect weather (it only *really* rained during our drive to Dunseverick Caslt where the ceremony was held)? The post wedding dinner and Guinness at Old Bushmills Inn? We have very busy lives, so the intimacy of having a day just for the two of us really made the entire day an amazing experience.

Not a single thing. Everything was absolutely perfect, and while we aren’t the sort who usually get all sentimental, we have both been heard saying we wish we could go back and relive that day again, not changing a single thing.

A destination elopement is the way to go. While there was legal paperwork to do with getting a marriage visa, our wedding planner helped with that aspect, and the wedding part was completely stress free. I cannot emphasize enough how much this improves the day. Instead of worrying about anything, or anyone, at all, you are left to really enjoy the experience. It was definitely the best choice for the best day!

As I mentioned, we are so very busy, we count our trip to Northern Ireland with a wedding in the middle as our honeymoon too.
