The Isle of Skye in Scotland is becoming one of the most popular locations for adventure loving couples in Europe. It might be because of the fact that you can have a legally binding humanist ceremony in almost any location you can think of. Or it might be simply because it’s breathtakingly beautiful. Taylor & Steven’s intimate Isle of Skye wedding by the fabulous Lynne Kennedy Photography is an absolute stunner and I know you’re going to love it!
An Intimate Isle Of Skye Wedding
Steven and I met in college (cliche) but the class we met in was Life Drawing. Little did he know it was a course on how to draw the human figure. So we drew naked people, it was a good ice breaker.
Steven proposed to me in Big Bend National Park in Texas. We love the outdoors, especially the mountains so it was such a meaningful place. I was very surprised and actually stumbled into a puddle.
I loved hearing Steven’s vows and reading mine. I loved looking at my friends and family during the ceremony. I knew they were freezing but they smiled through it all and I felt so much love.
Steven and I have been together for over seven years. We knew we wanted something memorable and unique. I had never been out of the country before, so when I mentioned to Steven that we should visit Scotland, he said “why not get married there?” It seemed like a dream until we made it a reality.
The inspiration was for the ceremony to be intimate and a testament to the bond Steven and I have built upon. Our closest family and friends were with us, who had seen us through so much. It meant a lot to have that moment.
No! We were so fortunate to have everything go so well, I loved it all.
Wear sensible shoes!
Once we decided on an intimate ceremony in Scotland, we began looking at Isle of Skye. We loved the gloominess of the highlands. Lynne Kennedy’s name popped up all over our searches and it was clear that she was a very accomplished and talented photographer. We reached out to her and she was wonderful!
