Today’s real couple live in the Austrian Alps just outside the city of Innsbruck. With a passion for travel, they started up their Instagram account me.and.leila where you can follow them on your adventures. But for this session, it was time for them both to get in front of the camera for their very own adventure session.
Adventure Session in the Austrian Alps
Choosing a location for Florian & Leila’s couple shoot was difficult. Not because there weren’t endless possibilities of beautiful locations, but because I wanted to choose a location that they hadn’t already been to and already photographed. I suggested one of my favourite, easy to reach locations, close to the Italian border in the Austrian Alps, and since they hadn’t been there, we jumped in the car and headed over.
Lake Obernberg is a beautiful mountain lake at the end over the Obernberg valley, and it’s only a short 20 minute hike up through mountain pastures until you reach the shores of the lake.
When we arrived it was pretty hot and sunny, so we headed up to the lake with just a couple of short stops along the way to admire the rustic wooden huts in the fields. Being a videographer, Florian couldn’t resist bringing his camera along too to capture of few shots of the gorgeous Leila in the meadows and around the lake.
We reached the lake shortly before sunset and managed to explore some of the shoreline and the wooden bridge across to the island in the middle. As the sun started to set, it soon got colder, so we called it a wrap and hiked back down to the car. But on the way down, we caught the last of the sunlight just before it disappeared behind the mountains.
